Why it made the list: Two cup holders beat one: you can hold a drink and a phone or a second can. The King Kong pairs that with a very high stated weight limit and more pockets than a standard quad chair. It is highly rated by buyers, with thousands of ratings, the top rated camping chair with cup holder in our shortlist.

Highlights:

• A cup holder on both sides for left- or right-handers.
• Tough 600D fabric over a steel frame.
• Backpack-strap carry bag frees your hands.

Trade-off:

• A steel frame makes it a car camping chair, not a trail chair.

Best for: Campers who want one sturdy chair with plenty of storage.

2. Best Budget (Under $30): Coleman Broadband Mesh Quad Camping Chair

Coleman Broadband Mesh Quad Camping Chair

• Frame and capacity: steel, up to 250 lb

We did not test these chairs. We compared weight and packed size, durability and weather resistance, comfort and ease of setup, camp features, and warranty and value. We used listing specs plus Amazon star ratings and rating volume. For this best camping chair with cup holder 2026 update, every pick had to list a built-in cup holder or drink tray.

Size & form factor

• Oversized: Wider seats; our premium pick is one.
• Heavy duty: Higher limits, like the King Kong, arguably the best outdoor folding chair with cup holder for big frames.
• Lightweight: Easier to carry; see our best lightweight camping chair picks.
• Compact: Folds small for tight trunks.
• Low: Beach and concert chairs close to the ground.
• High back: Extra support for your head and neck.
• Double: Loveseat chairs, often with two cup holders.
• Kids: Small frames with a single cup holder.

Type

• Folding: Quad chairs like our budget pick; the classic best folding camping chair with cup holder style.
• Ultralight: Pole-and-fabric chairs; many skip cup holders.
• Rocking: Rockers usually add a drink holder; see our best rocking camping chair guide.
• Reclining: Adjustable backs for lounging.
• Zero gravity: Full recliners with side trays, like our premium pick.
• Backpacking: Minimal chairs, rarely with cup holders.
• Beach: Low chairs, often with a cup holder in the arm.
• Heated: Battery-heated pads for cold nights.
• Director: Upright chairs with side tables.
• Swinging: Hammock-style chairs on a frame.

Features worth paying for

• Cup holder: Mesh holders pack flat; hard holders keep cans steadier.
• Footrest: Built into recliners and some lounge chairs.
• Side table: A flat surface for plates as well as drinks.
• Canopy: Shade on sunny days; see our best camping chair with canopy picks.
• Cooler: Insulated pouches keep a few cans cold.
• Lumbar support: Helps on long evenings.

Weight vs comfort: car camping or backpacking

All three picks are car camping chairs. If you hike to camp, choose an ultralight chair and use a bottle pocket instead of a cup holder.

Weather & season ratings

Mesh and polyester dry quickly. Store chairs out of the sun when not in use, and empty cup holders before folding so they do not collect water.

Setup, packing & storage

Quad chairs open in seconds; recliners fold flat but need more space. Dry fabric before storing.

Materials, repairs & warranty

Powder-coated steel resists rust better than bare steel. ALPS lists a limited lifetime warranty and TIMBER RIDGE a 1-year warranty.

How much should you spend?

• Under $30: Basic quad chairs with a mesh cup holder, like the Coleman.
• Under $50: Padded chairs, some with coolers and side pockets.
• Under $100: Heavy-duty chairs with two cup holders, like the King Kong.
• Under $200: Padded zero gravity recliners with trays, like the TIMBER RIDGE.

For most car campers, yes. The ground at camp is uneven, dusty and full of bugs, so a drink placed next to the chair is easy to spill or contaminate. A built-in holder costs little and keeps it upright and within reach.

You can skip it if you backpack and carry an ultralight chair, since every ounce counts and a bottle can ride in a pack pocket. A side table is an alternative if you also want space for a plate. For everyone else, the best camp chair with cup holder is a small upgrade you use daily.

What is the best camping chair with cup holder?

The best camping chair with cup holder for most people is the ALPS Mountaineering King Kong. It has a cup holder in each armrest, 600D fabric on a steel frame, extra pockets and a strong buyer rating, with thousands of ratings. The Coleman Broadband is the budget pick, and the TIMBER RIDGE recliner is the upgrade.

Is a camping chair with cup holder worth it?

Yes, for car camping, tailgating and backyard use. It keeps drinks off uneven ground and saves you bringing a side table. Mesh cup holders add almost no weight or cost, so most folding chairs have one. Only ultralight backpackers usually skip it.

How long does a camping chair last?

There is no official lifespan figure for camping chairs. Joints, rivets and fabric seams wear first, and sun and moisture speed that up. Keep the chair dry, store it out of direct sun, and check the frame, fabric and cup holder stitching before each trip.

Is a camping chair worth it?

Yes, a camping chair is worth it for nearly every car camping trip. Sitting on logs or coolers gets uncomfortable fast. A folding chair gives back support, sets up in seconds and, with a cup holder, keeps your drink handy.

How do you clean a camping chair?

Shake out dirt, then scrub fabric with warm water and mild soap and rinse. Clean sticky residue from cup holders and wipe the frame. Let everything dry fully before folding, and follow the maker's care guidance.

What is the most reliable camping chair brand?

No single brand is most reliable for every camper. ALPS Mountaineering, Coleman and TIMBER RIDGE all have large rating pools in this category. Look for the stated weight limit, frame finish and warranty, rather than the brand name alone.

The ALPS Mountaineering King Kong is the best camping chair with cup holder for most campers, with two armrest holders and a tough steel frame. The Coleman Broadband is the budget pick for the whole group, and the TIMBER RIDGE zero gravity chair is the padded upgrade with a drink tray. Check price on Amazon for today's deals.
